Keeping up with the latest fashion trends can be exhausting and intimidating, so why do it? It's time to stop accepting the cookie cutter images that others have created for you. Fight back against assembly line fashion and create your own style.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Listen to your inner fashion goddess. You are a unique individual with your own likes and dislikes. Although fashion magazines and television provide guidance in fashion trends, the style is not a representation of you.

  2. Step 2

Experiment with color, patterns, and lengths. Being willing to try new things can lead you into fashion areas you might have never thought you desired. While the little black dress will always be in fashion, you shouldn't wear it to every function.

  3. Step 3

Design your own clothes and accessories. Making your clothing allows you to put your personal touch into the items. The items you create will be especially crafted for your new look.

  4. Step 4

Add flair to your hair. While hair fusions or coloring might not suit you, maybe a new haircut will.

  5. Step 5

Take criticism with a grain of salt. So what if people stare at your rainbow colored boots or purple hair? You only live once. Why not break out of the mold and live life as the unique individual you were meant to be. Remember, every trend had a beginning.

Tips & Warnings
  • Consider shopping at thrift and consignment shops. You may be able to find creative or vintage looks without overpaying.
