How to Create Magnetic Business Cards

Business cards are one of the top used forms of advertising for business. It is a tried and true method of passing along business information from one person to another. Another form of advertising that has been used over the years is business card magnets. So why not bring these two forms of advertising together as one. And the most important part is that it is easier than you may think to turn your business card into a magnet.

Things You’ll Need:

• Business cards
• Business card magnets from a local office supply store or a magnet sheet from a local craft store

1. Buy magnet backing. Most office supply stores sell pre-cut magnetic backing for standard size business cards. If you are trying to save money, but have some time to cut the backing yourself, you can also purchase sheets of magnet backing at a local craft store.
2. Cut the magnet backing. If you decide to buy sheets of magnetic backing, you will need to measure your business card. Once you have the business card measurements, then cut a piece of magnetic backing the same size as your business card. Or if the pre-cut magnetic backing is too large for your business card, you need to cut the magnet down to the size of your card.
3. Adhere the magnet backing. Whether you buy pre-cut magnetic backing or you have cut the backing yourself, peel off the paper that protects the adhesive and place a business card on to the magnet.
4. Firmly press the card to the adhesive to make sure that it is applied.
5. Repeat these steps until you have created all of the magnetic business cards that you need.

Tips & Warnings

• Be sure to cut the size of the magnet as close to your business card size as possible. This prevents the card from being bent from use because the magnet backing will act as a layer of protection.
