How to Make Pineapple Dip
This is a great dip to make for a summer barbecue, and a refreshing change from onion dip or salsa. You can serve with fresh veggie dippers and melon balls for a pretty centerpiece, making even a meal of hot dogs and hamburgers something special. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 2 (8 oz .)packages cream cheese
- 1 (8.5 oz.) can crushed pineapple, drained
- (or 1 cup finely chopped fresh pineapple)
- 2 tbsp. chopped green pepper
- 2 tbsp. chopped green onions, with tops
- 1/4 tsp. cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste

Set out cream cheese on counter to soften for about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, drain crushed pineapple or if you're using fresh, chop one cup into small pieces. Reserve the rest of pineapple (see tips) for serving.

Chop green onions and peppers.

In large bowl, combine cream cheese, green onions and peppers, pineapple, and spices. Toss gently to mix.

Form into a ball, wrap tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least an hour before serving.

Place on plate and serve.

Tips & Warnings
If desired, cut remaining pineapple into chunks and serve alongside dip.
You can also roll the pineapple ball into 1/2 cup crushed walnuts before refrigerating.
Discard any unusued dip after it's been sitting out for an hour or more.
