How to Cook Scallops in the Oven

Scallops hot from the oven are a tasty addition to your table. This simple, but delicious recipe is easy to follow and sure to bring a smile to your family's faces. Cooking the scallops in the oven, gives you time to focus on whatever else you might be putting together as a meal.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Scallops
  • Melted butter
  • Shallow baking pan
  • Aluminum foil
  • Oven
  1. Step 1

    Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Line your baking pan with aluminum foil.

  2. Step 2

    Line scallops in your foil covered pan. Melt butter and brush on the tops of the scallops.

  3. Step 3

    Bake the scallops in the oven 12 to 15 minutes until slightly firm and white in color.

Tips & Warnings
  • It's always important to make sure your scallops are fresh; use your nose to tell. Fresh scallops will smell clean, not fishy.
  • Overcooking scallops can make them hard or rubbery. Remember that scallops are done when they are no longer translucent and turn an opaque color.
