Things You'll Need:
- Wrist supports
- Athletic tape
- Powder
- 5 or 10 lb. dumbbells
-
Step 1
This is an orthopedic wrist wrap that supports the wrist without interfering with mobility.Wrap your wrists. In breakdancing, the entire weight of your body may be balanced on a single palm, which can cause a great deal of strain on your wrists. In order to give your wrists additional support, wrap them tightly using a criss-cross pattern with an elastic athletic wrap or tape. You can also purchase wrist support bands at most drugstores for under five dollars.
-
Step 2
Breakdancers may use chalk instead of powder to prevent slipping during complicated moves.Powder your hands. In order to prevent straining your wrists while doing spins, powder your palms to make them slide on the floor or mat more easily.
-
Step 3
Wear gloves. Gloves can also facilitate sliding and prevent your wrists from twisting the wrong way during a spin.
-
Step 4
Lift weights. Hold one dumbbell in each hand with your palms facing up. Relax your wrists, then curl them up as far as possible. Repeat this exercise as many times as you can.
