Learn how to prepare a great Greek salad easily by following the steps below. It will soon become a family favorite!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3/4 Cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tsp. dried oregano
  • 3 tsp. fresh minced garlic
  • 1 tsp. dried basil
  • 3 tbsp. red wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 Heads romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 3 Plum tomatoes, cut in wedges
  • 1Cucumber peeled, seeded and sliced
  • 1 Red onion, cut into slices
  • 1 Green pepper, sliced
  • 1/2 Pound feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 Cup kalamata olives

    A Great Greek Salad

  1. Step 1

    Make the salad dressing first and let stand in the refrigerator to combine flavors. In bowl mix together olive oil, lemon juice, oregano, garlic, basil, red wine vinegar, and sugar. Mix well and then add in Parmesan cheese and season to taste with salt and pepper.

  2. Step 2
     

    Combine lettuce, tomato, cucumber, green pepper, onion, olives, and crumbled feta cheese. Toss well.

  3. Step 3
     

    Add the salad dressing after mixing well and toss salad one more time prior to eating. Salad is ready to serve and enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • If desired leave out the Parmesan cheese, or just let guests sprinkle some on top when the salad is served and plated. All of the ingredients can be adjusted for personal taste so don't be afraid to get creative.
