The Tiger Grouper fish has a large mouth and big lips. They can get big in size up to 3 1/2 feet but on average they are around 1 to 2 feet.

Step 2
The feature that sets them apart from its relatives are the vertical white tiger stripes that cover the body. The rest of their body is a reddish brown. Young groupers are yellow in colour.
-
Step 3
Tiger Groupers can change their stripes which can make their stripes harder to see. They do this by lightening or darkening their body color.
-
Step 4
If they are on a cleaning station their coloring may be bright and in some cases a bright red. On some occasions their mouths and gills may flare open for cleaning.
-
Step 5
Tiger Groupers can usually be found resting on the bottom or under ledges of sheltered reef areas. They are also found in shallow seas and subtidal aquatic beds.
