How to Make Angel Hair Pasta Tossed With Olive Oil

Step1
Bring a large pot of hot water to a rapid boil under a high flame. Add a few pinches of salt for flavor and to keep the pasta from sticking.
Step2
Add a box of angel hair pasta to the pot. You may break the angel hair in half with your hands first.
Step3
Stir the pasta. Lower the flame to a medium high setting. Set a timer for the cook time indicated on the back of the pasta box. Typically it will be 6 to 8 minutes.
Step4
Stir pasta occasionally. When timer beeps, test a strand of pasta by tasting it. Be careful, it’s hot. If you like the pasta’s texture, turn off the flame.
Step5
Using the kitchen mitts, pick up the pot and drain the pasta into a strainer in the sink. Do it quickly and deliberately, and keep your face away from the rising hot steam.
Step6
Add 1 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil to the empty pot. Add a ½ tsp of minced garlic. Pour the drained pasta back into the pot. Mix the pasta and oil mixture with a large kitchen spoon
Step7
Season to taste or leave the salt and pepper for the dinner table. Serve up portions on dinner plates.
