Learning to draw cards for Valentine's Day is not hard, even if you don't have the best artistic skills. There are simple ways to make a genuine Valentine's Day card that is thoughtful and touching.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Fold a piece of paper in half to make the card. The paper can be your choice of color, but red, pink, purple or white work best for a Valentine's Day card.

  2. Step 2

Practice drawing hearts on a scrap piece of paper. If you have a heart template that you drew yourself or found online, use that to trace the shape on the paper that you folded in half. The heart can be as big or as small as you like. One large heart in the middle of the card is one option, while smaller hearts dotted around is another.

  3. Step 3

Cut different colors of paper into heart shapes to put on the front of the card. Once again, red, pink, white and purple are most popular when it comes to Valentine's Day cards.

  4. Step 4

Glue the cutout hearts onto the piece of paper where you like. If you have one big heart, this could be in the center, while smaller hearts can be dotted around the paper. If you drew hearts on the card, color them in to your liking.

  5. Step 5

Choose a color marker, crayon or pencil to write a greeting on the front. It needs to stand out from the colored paper you chose. For example, pink construction paper with pink letters probably isn't the best choice. You could use the person's favorite colors, or try variations such as pink paper with purple letters or white paper with red letters.

  6. Step 6

Write a sentimental greeting on the front of the card around the heart you drew or glued on. It could say "Happy Valentine's Day," "Be Mine" or "Will You Be My Valentine?"

  7. Step 7

Open the card and write a message to the person who will receive the card.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep the card simple. The less you do, the better it will look.
