Mix an Appletini

The appletini is a modern cocktail that really only resembles a true martini because of the fact that they're both served in martini glasses. The appletini is a sweet, refreshing drink and is extraordinarily popular. Many people, however, don't realize that they can mix up their own appletinis at home. Here's how to do so: Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 2 oz. Apple-flavored Vodka
  • 1 oz. Apple Schnapps
  • 2 oz. Apple Juice
  • Ice
  • Martini Glass
  • Martini Shaker
  • Apple Wedge

Instructions

    • 1

Fill your martini glass with ice and allow it to chill during the appletini production process.

    • 2

Fill your shaker roughly 3/4 of the way full with ice.

    • 3

Add the apple-flavored vodka, apple schnapps, and apple juice to the shaker.

    • 4

Place the shaker's lid firmly on and shake the mixture vigorously for between 30 second to 1 minute.

    • 5

Remove the ice from your now-chilled martini glass.

    • 6

Remove the lid from your shaker and strain the liquid out of the shaker into the martini glass. Be careful to remove any ice chunks that aren't strained out of the concoction.

    • 7

Garnish by placing a wedge of apple on the rim of the martini glass.

Tips & Warnings

  • The quality of the ingredients in an appletini do not significantly affect the flavor that's achieved. In other words, it's not worth spending a lot of money on expensive vodka for this recipe.

  • If you prefer, apple cider can be used in place of apple juice to add a more tangy flavor to the finished product. The cider will cloud the drink a bit, though.

  • Remember, although the appletini tastes as if it has very little alcohol, it is a potent cocktail and has a fairly intoxicating effect. As always, when drinking use caution and apply your best judgment.
