This is a fun and very tasty main meal. Tepanyaki means iron-pan grilling in Japanese. It's ideal for a dinner party, since each person cooks their own meal. Select favorite vegetables and meats and cut them into bite-sized pieces. Prepare the meat and vegetables at the table over an oiled electric pan.

Things You'll Need:

  • cubed beef steak - tenderloin or sirloin (for a real treat, use Kobe beef)
  • shrimp
  • large carrots
  • large green peppers
  • onion
  • Chinese cabbage
  • shiitake mushrooms
  • Cooking oil
  • Yakiniku sauce

    How to Cook Beef Tepanyaki

  1. Step 1

    Prepare the following ingredients:1 pound cubed kobe beef steak - tenderloin or sirloin12-18 shrimp2 large carrots2 large green peppers1 onion1 Chinese cabbage12 shiitake mushroomsCooking oilyakiniku sauce

  2. Step 2

    Cut all ingredients into bite sized pieces

  3. Step 3

    Oil electric pan and prepare items in separate sections of the pan.

  4. Step 4

    Eat food as it finishes while cooking and dip in Yakiniku sauce.

  5. Step 5

    Serves four guests. Double the recipe for a party of eight.
