Have you ever wanted to make your own t-shirt with an iron on transfer? Create original designs, iron on family photos or use that special skyline you love to look at. It's not a very hard process, and t-shirts makes a great gift!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Photo Editing Software (Photoshop, Paint, etc)
  • T-Shirt
  • Ink jet t-shirt transfers (light or dark depending on the color of the shirt you are using)
  • iron
  1. Step 1

Use your photo editing software to create an image that you want on a t-shirt. You can do this any number of ways. For instance, you can take a photo of yourself or a family member, and add text with ease.

  2. Step 2

Prepare your printer using the software that came with it. There should be a setting to let it know you are printing a t-shirt transfer. If not, set the image to "mirror" with your photo editing software.

  3. Step 3

Print a test image on regular paper to make sure that it is properly aligned and mirrored, so that you do not waste a t-shirt transfer. To save ink, then you may adjust the printer settings to a "quick print" quality so that it doesn't use as much ink as it normally would.

  4. Step 4

Once you have verified that you have the correct settings, then you can print on a transfer, and follow the directions that came with your t-shirt transfers from there.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure that your image is mirrored.
  • If you are printing on a dark t-shirt, make sure that you have transfers for dark shirts, or else it will not come out right.
