When hosting your next party, offer your younger guests fancy virgin cocktails that taste great and look special. Add kid-friendly garnishes and you'll be a hit with all your guests. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Miniature ice cube tray
- Light-colored carbonated soda (lemon-lime or ginger ale type)
- Maraschino cherries in juice
- Orange, lemon and lime slices
- Granulated sugar or colored sprinkles
- Straws or swizzle sticks
- Animal shape glass markers (colored plastic pieces with rings that attach to stemware)

Instructions

1
Mix together carbonated soda and maraschino cherry juice to taste. Pour into fancy plastic glassware over miniature ice cubes. Remove any stems and drop a couple of whole maraschino cherries into the bottom of the glass to mimic the olives in a martini.
-
2
Cut the lemon, lime or small orange into 1/4-inch slices. Lay the slices on a plate and sprinkle with sugar. Turn the slices over and sprinkle again. Make a cut from the center of each slice out through the peel and place over the edge of the glass.

Add swizzle sticks or straws as additional garnish. Cut them in half if they are too long. Put a different animal shaped drink marker on the stem of each plastic glass. Every child will be able to find his drink by simply remembering which animal is his, and can use the same glass for the entire party.
-
4
Make a list of each animal marker and write down a child's name next to each, if necessary. This way when an argument arises over whose drink is whose, you have the list to refer to.

5
Give your kiddie cocktail a fun name like Dinosaur Cooler or Kookie Kocktail. Use your imagination--the possibilities are endless.
