Things You'll Need:
- 5 eggs, separated
- 1/2-cup sugar
- 1 cup bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 2 cups walnuts, chopped
- Whipped cream topping
- • 1-cup heavy cream
- • 2 tsp sugar
- • 2 drops vanilla extract

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Separate the egg whites and egg yolks.

In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar and egg yolks.

Using a mixer beat the egg whites into a meringue that forms stiff peaks.

Alternately, fold chocolate pieces, walnuts and meringue into yolk mix.

Pour into a spring form pan and bake for 30 minutes until golden brown.

For the whipped cream, beat cream, sugar and vanilla extract until light and fluffy. When the torte has cooled, spoon a dollop of whipped cream on top.
