How to Cook Pasta Carbonara

Things You'll Need

  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 shallots, diced
  • 1/2 lb bacon, sliced in strips
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 lb fettucini pasta
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Heat oil in skillet and sauté shallots.

  • Add chopped onion, bacon strips and garlic. Cook until bacon is done. Remove from heat and set aside.

  • Boil water and add fettucini. Cook to al dente for about 10 minutes.

  • In a bowl, whisk together egg yolks, cream and Parmesan cheese.

  • Combine the bacon mixture, pasta, cream sauce and lightly toss. Salt and pepper to taste.
