Motorcycles became available for purchase in 1894 and have been evolving ever since. Wheelies weren't really an option on the first motorcycles that were available, but as time passed it became possible to do more and more with motorcycles. Take your first step to looking like a professional motorcyclist by learning to wheelie.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • Motorcycle
  • Helmet

Ride a Wheelie

Step1
Get away from any populated areas. If there are any police or civilians nearby, this could get ugly.
Step2
Rev up to your powerband in first gear. This is usually around 6500 RPM.
Step3
Release the throttle just enough so that your front forks compress.
Step4
Snap your throttle back on when your front forks are fully compressed.
Step5
Ride the wheelie. This is known as a power wheelie. After getting good at this, you can attempt a clutch wheelie, which is a bit more difficult, but actually the best way to do a wheelie.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can try a wheelie by pulling up on the handlebars, but this looks sloppy and you could hurt yourself.
  • Make sure to wear a helmet. It costs extra if they have to identify you with dental records.
