How to Make Beef Gravy out of Beef Broth

Homemade beef gravy is just the right touch for any meat dish. It can also work for a unique twist to pureed vegetables or roasted potatoes. Try mixing it up with foods that aren't traditionally served with gravy. The following recipe explains how to make a delicious, simple gravy every time.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 2 Tbsp Flour
  • 1/4 cup Meat Drippings
  • 2 cups Beef Broth
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  1. Step 1

    In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter or margarine.

  2. Step 2

    Slowly pour in flour. Stir vigorously and blend until the mixture is lump-free and smooth.

  3. Step 3

    Stir in 1/4 cup of meat drippings.

  4. Step 4

    Slowly stir in 2 cups of beef broth. Blend well until gravy is thickened.

  5. Step 5

    Adjust salt and pepper to taste.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add pizazz to your gravy by adding your own favorite seasonings.
