How to Use Mantras in Kundalini Yoga
A mantra is a syllable, word or phrase in one of the sacred languages (like Sanskrit and Ghurmeki) or in English that elevates or modifies consciousness through its meaning, which is the sound itself, rhythm, tone and even the reflexology of the tongue on the palate. Next to breathing, the use of mantra is the most important aspect of the practice of Kundalini yoga.

There are two things you can do to make the use of a mantra more powerful, regardless of how you recite. One is to see the mantra, as if it is being written as you say it.
-
2
The other is to actively listen to it as you say it.

More important than some mantras' literal meaning is the resonant activity they creates within thehuman body. There are three main chambers: the head, the chest and the abdomen. Within thesethree chambers are the glands and organs that govern bodily functions and set the bloodchemistry, which in turn controls mood. These words, when chanted correctly, resonate in thethree chambers and awaken them to the effects of the yoga about to be done.
