Instructions

    • 1

Tear the lettuce into small pieces. The pieces of lettuce should be bite-size so that you do not have to use a knife to eat the salad.

    • 2
Shake the lettuce dry or leave a little water to keep the leaves fresh.

Rinse the lettuce pieces under cold water. Hot water will make the lettuce wilt.

    • 3

Place the lettuce in the salad bowl. Spread it out so that it covers the bottom of the bowl and at least halfway up the sides.

    • 4
If you don't have cherry tomatoes, you can use sliced tomatoes.

Make a circle of cherry tomatoes on top of the lettuce. You can make the circle big or little, depending on how many tomatoes you have.

    • 5

Sprinkle the grated carrots around the edge of the tomato circle. The carrot circle does not need to be thick. It is okay to see lettuce under the carrots and also okay if some carrots get inside the tomato circle.

    • 6
Cheese is a delicious topping to finish off your salad.

Sprinkle grated cheese over the entire salad.

    • 7
If you've added too much dressing, make a tossed salad.

Add salad dressing. Swirl the dressing over the top of the salad to make a pretty design.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can add other toppings like celery, raisins, nuts or cucumber to make your salad more diverse.
