How to Make a B 52 Drink
While the exact origins of the B 52 drink are somewhat unclear, there is general agreement that the name is connected with the B-52 bombers that were commonly used during the Vietnam War. The general idea is that the B 52 drink has a huge impact, in spite of the fact that the drink utilizes only three simple ingredients. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Pour a layer of Amaretto into the shot glass. The layer should fill roughly one third of the interior of the glass.
-
2
Next, add the coffee liqueur. As with the Amaretto, the coffee liqueur should fill a third of the space in the glass. In order to make sure the two layers remain more or less defined, do not pour the liqueur into the glass. Use the chilled bar spoon to drizzle the liqueur gradually into the glass. This is accomplished by positioning the back of the spoon at an angle near the top rim of the glass. Slowly pour the liqueur over the back of the spoon, allowing the liquid to rain down and create a layer over the Amaretto.

3
Last, top off with Irish cream. As with the coffee liqueur, the Irish Cream should not be poured directly into the glass. Use the back of the bar spoon to slowly and gently introduce the Irish cream to the drink, effectively allowing the third layer to form without deeply penetrating the layer of coffee liqueur.

4
Serve the drink immediately. The longer that the B 52 settles, the less distinct the layers will appear to be.

Tips & Warnings
Never stir a B 52 prior to serving. The recipient may stir the ingredients if he or she wishes.
If the top layer is lit in order to create what is known as a Flaming B 52, make sure to use a heatproof glass instead of a standard shot or sherry glass.
As with all alcoholic beverages, it is advised to not consume too many rounds and always refrain from any tasks that require concentration, such as driving.
