The easy going life of a cat can be abruptly interrupted if they get fleas. Many of the flea shampoos out there are costly and contain toxic chemicals. Luckily for you and your cat, there are safer and cheaper alternatives to help get rid of pesky fleas.

Things You'll Need

• Cat Shampoo
• Essential Oil of Rosemary
• 1 Teaspoon Dried Rosemary
• 1 Pint Boiling Water

Instructions

Make Flea Shampoo for Cats

1. Add a few drops of essential oil of rosemary to the cat shampoo you will be using.

2. Put a pint of water in a tea pot and bring it to a boil.

3. Add your rosemary to the water and allow it to steep for ten minutes, covered.

4. Strain water and allow it to cool to the cat's body temperature.

5. Wash your cat with the oiled shampoo.

6. Rinse off the cat shampoo. Rub in the pint of water after the final rinse.

7. Towel dry your cat without any further rinsing.

Tips & Warnings

• Make sure not to rinse off cat after adding your pint of water. This helps keep fleas away.

• Steam cleaning your carpet after bathing your cat and vacuuming every week will help keep fleas away as well.

• Do not add oils directly to your cat's body, as this will irritate their skin.
