The neck muscle is possibly one of the most important parts of the body. It holds the head, which can weigh up to 20 pounds. The neck can also be a source of great pain if it becomes weak. Measures can be taken to ensure the strength of the neck. Here’s how to use a towel in neck muscle training.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Wrap the towel around the back of the head. Hold both hands up in front of the face and hold each end of the towel. Push back slowly on the towel until resistance is felt. Repeat the exercise through 5 to 7 sets.
Step2
Tilt the head forward and wrap the towel around the forehead. Hold both ends of the towel behind the head. Slowly bend head forward until resistance is felt. Repeat the exercise through 5 to 7 sets.
Step3
Raise right hand to the side of the head. Wrap towel around head as if it were a bandana and grab both ends of the towel into right fist. Move head slowly to the left side until resistance is felt. Repeat this exercise 5 to 7 sets.
Step4
Move ends of the bandana to the left side of the head and hold the ends of the towel in the left fist. Move head slowly to the right side until resistance is felt. Repeat this exercise 5 to 7 sets.
Step5
Rotate head in a circular motion to the left until a complete circle is made. Rotate head in circular motion to the right until a complete circle is made. Rest neck and avoid making sudden jerking motions of any kind.
