Who doesn't love fried chicken? And who doesn't second guess themselves because of it's calories and fat content? Here we will explain how to make a delicious baked chicken that will taste just like if it had been fried.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • * 3 cups of bread crumbs, preferably Italian style
  • * 2 tbsp. of paprika
  • * 2 tbsp. of garlic salt
  • * 1 tbsp. of ground red pepper
  • * 2 cups of 1.5 percent buttermilk
  • * 12 skinless chicken pieces
  • * butter-flavored cooking spray
  • * 2 shallow bowls
  • * 1 baking pan
  • * measuring cups
  • * oven mitts

    How to prepare delicious baked fried chicken

  1. Step 1

    Preheat oven at 400 degrees.

  2. Step 2

    Using one of the shallow bowls, combine the bread crumbs, paprika, garlic, salt and pepper.

  3. Step 3

    Pour buttermilk into the other shallow bowl.

  4. Step 4

    Dip the chicken into the buttermilk and then roll it in the bowl with the mixture until it is completely covered in the bread crumb mixture.

  5. Step 5

    Place the piece of chicken in the large baking pan.

  6. Step 6

    Repeat with all the pieces of chicken.

  7. Step 7

    Spray the chicken pieces with the butter-flavored cooking spray. Be sure to cover the chicken generously.

  8. Step 8

    Put it in the oven and bake for 40 minutes or until done.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you have a meat thermometer, you can use it to check to determine when the chicken is done. For breasts, the temperature should be 170 degrees and for thighs, 180 degrees.
