Family Members Gone Wild

How to deal with fighting family members.

From Quick Guide: Family Fights
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Take a breath. You're gonna need it. Because they have gone crazy, and you're the only sane one left.

  2. Step 2

Try as you might to stay out of the fight you know you are going to be in, whether you want to or not. So take it in stride and try to help defuse the situation. Find out why they are fighting. But no matter what your feelings are about the situation, do not add your opinions. You never know if what you say might help or hurt the situation.

  3. Step 3

Try to get them to calm down enough to sit and talk the situation out. Make them understand talking it out is better than screaming at each other and fighting like lunatics. They will seek to resolve the fighting, realizing the only thing hurt was their wounded pride.

Tips & Warnings
  • Just have patience. It will pass.
  • Never let the fight get physical, and never let them do something they will regret later.
