Picking a swimsuit is a difficult task. Most people have insecurities so they get even pickier than with other types of clothing. The trick is find a swimsuit that covers areas of concern and highlights areas that you like about your body. That's why designing your own swimsuit which compliments your body might be best. Here's how to get the most out of your design.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Paper
  • Pencil
  • Full Body Self Photos (front and back)
  • Colored Pencils
  1. Step 1

Try on several bathing suits and take note of what styles, cuts and colors are most flattering on you. If you would like, take digital pictures of yourself in these bathing suits for reference later.

  2. Step 2

Now take the front and back full body shots of yourself and trace your outline on a blank sheet of white paper. This will be your swimsuit model, the perfect model to draw your design on, yourself. If you took digital photos, take your camera out now for taking a look at designs you liked.

  3. Step 3

Photocopy your body tracing so you have several copies. You'll use these to draw different concepts. Draw your ideas for your swimsuit on the body outline. If you need to point out specific details, draw an arrow to the exact point of reference and write in the details.

  4. Step 4

Color in the patterns with colored pencils and markers. If you have a fabric swatch of the material pattern you like then attach it to the sheet of paper.

  5. Step 5

Complete your design by adding any other notes or personal touches to it. You now have the design completed. You can take your measurements, and adapt it to real-life scale to make the suit a reality.

Tips & Warnings
  • Pick flattering designs and colors that you know look good on you.
  • Don't design a swimsuit for what you hope your body will be, as in when you drop those "last 10 pounds." Design it for your current body.
