-
Step 2
Install the software. Double click the icon to start the install. Follow the prompts until your version is installed.
-
Step 3
Prepare your information. You will be asked for system specific information including how fast your upload and download speeds are. Change the port from the default 6881 to a number between 49152 and 65534. Be sure to test the port and when you get an OK message, you can move on to the next step.
-
Step 4
Search for torrents to download. Now that you've got Azureus installed correctly, you can start finding files to download. There are many torrent sites to choose from. Some of the most popular are listed at the bottom of this article.
-
Step 5
Select your torrent for download and start the process. Once you've found something to download, click on the 'download this torrent' link on the web page. This will give you the option of saving the file to disk or opening it with Azureus. Select 'open with Azureus' and the program will open and start downloading the files.
-
Step 6
Select your files. A box will open in Azureus that shows each of the files in the torrent that you are downloading. Click it and Azureus will start downloading the files. Once the download is done, it will begin seeding the file so that other's can download it, too.
-
Step 7
Choose your optimum download and upload limit. In your Azureus settings, you can choose how many downloads and uploads you want running at each time. Refer to the Azureus 'good settings' document for information specific to your download speeds.
-
Step 8
Find your downloaded files. Once you've downloaded your files, you will find them in the default download directory. This is usually in My Documents (for Windows Users) and under Torrents or Downloads.
