If your wrist is weak or has been injured in the past wrapping it is a good way to prevent it from getting injured (or re-injured).

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sports tape or an Ace bandage
  1. Step 1

Get either sports tape or an Ace bandage. Be sure to choose one that will allow for movement,; it should be an inch to an inch and a half in width.

  2. Step 2

Begin wrapping below the wrist, two to three inches up the arm. Begin with a flat part of the arm, and complete one whole rotation of the arm. Wrap firmly but not too tightly. Be careful not to impede the circulation to the arm or hand.

  3. Step 3

Work your way up toward the hand. When you reach the heal of the hand, wrap the bandage between the thumb and the index finger. This will help the bandage to stay in place during the game, and prevent it from sliding down the wrist.

  4. Step 4

Work your way back down the arm to your starting point. If you are using an Ace-like bandage and you have more bandage left work your way to the smallest part of your wrist. Be sure to use the closing connection (a double ended piece of metal with small spikes in the back). to close the bandage as per the manufacturer's instructions. If you are using sports tape just cut the tape when you reach your starting point again.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't overtape your wrist. You will know you have done this if your taping is restricting your wrist.
