How to Make Herb Cream Cheese Spread

There are many different recipes out there for cream cheese spreads with herbs. Here's one that's easy for anyone to make. Does this Spark an idea?

  • 1 1/2 tsp. finely minced garlic
  • 3/4 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp. salt and 1/8 Teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 8-oz. package of cream cheese

Instructions

      Get a medium sized mixing bowl. Mix together garlic, Italian seasoning, 1/4 tsp. salt and the onion powder together.

      It is easier to make the spread with a mixer, but it can also be done by hand. Put the cream cheese into the mixer and mix it by itself for a minute to loosen up the cream cheese. If doing it by hand, mix the cream cheese in a separate bowl for a minute or two to loosen up the cream cheese.

      In the mixing bowl, add the spices to the cream cheese and blend for another minute or two. If doing this by hand, mix the spices together in the bowl with the cream cheese. Make sure that the mixture is completely mixed before moving to the next step.

      Once the mixture is completely mixed together, remove from the mixer.

      Remove from the mixing bowl and transfer plastic container for storage. The mixture needs to be refrigerated for an hour before using.

Tips & Warnings

  • This is a simple recipe that can be altered with other spices easily. Another favorite spice to us instead of garlic is rosemary.

  • Also you can use whipped cream cheese instead of basic cream cheese, just be careful when mixing it not to over-whip the cream cheese.
