One of the best organizers ever invented is right under your nose. Envelopes are so versatile and handy, you can use them to organize almost everything. Follow these steps in order to learn new ways to organize with envelopes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Envelopes
  • Scrapbooking supplies
  • Three hole paper punch
  • Sewing items
  • Clippings
  • Medications
  • Receipts
  1. Step 1

Organize scrapbooking supplies with envelopes. Keep track of scrapbook embellishments with envelopes. Just insert envelopes vertically into a paper hole-punch. Squeeze the punch to create holes that run alongside the flap. Open a three ring binder. Stuff envelopes with scrap paper or dye cuts. Tuck the envelopes with contents into the binder.

  2. Step 2

Organize sewing supplies with envelopes. Gather any spare sewing notions and sort the items into categories. Select envelopes of appropriate size. Stuff the envelopes with similar items. For instance, combine eyes with hooks in the same envelope. Label the envelopes according to the contents. With envelopes, you can locate spare buttons and snaps quickly and efficiently.

  3. Step 3

Organize coupons with envelopes. Collect coupons and sort them by product or expiration date. Stuff the envelopes with coupons. Label the envelopes according to the contents. Be sure to select envelopes that can be conveniently stored in a purse or wallet.

  4. Step 4

Organize medication with envelopes. Count out the doses of medication for the week. Determine which manner of storage is most convenient. For instance, place heart medication in one envelope. Place blood pressure medication in another envelope. Place the medication in envelopes that are clearly labeled and dated.

  5. Step 5

Organize clippings with envelopes. Gather recipes, newspaper clippings and notes. Categorize the clippings in a manner that makes logical sense to you. Stuff clippings into envelopes. Store the envelopes in a convenient place, such as a binder or an album.

  6. Step 6

Organize small items that you intend to shred with envelopes. Stuff receipts and statements into envelopes before putting them into a shredder. Shredding envelopes of receipts saves time. Take care to review the contents of the envelope before you shred the envelope.

Tips & Warnings
  • Recycle old envelopes. Use envelopes received in the mail to organize and store small items that you intend to shred.
  • Do not attempt to place an overly stuffed envelope into a shredder. Putting too much paper into the shredder at one time may cause the shredder to jam.
