Summer is the season of friends, fun and family. The kids are out of school and the weather is warm and people stop by just to say hello! When they do, you'll want to have something available to feed them that is quick to make and pretty on the table. Follow these instructions to learn how to make a fast dessert called fruit fool. It takes less than 5 minutes to prepare, has just three ingredients and looks beautiful, light and summery on any table.

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 (21 oz.) can of fruit pie filling
  • 1 (8 oz.) container of thawed whipped topping
  • 1/2 cup toasted walnuts, chopped
  • 6 glass dessert bowls, parfait glasses or stemmed goblets
  1. Step 1
    Now all you need is the pie filling

    Mix the fruit filling and whipped cream. Blend the two ingredients together until they are marbled, which means that you can still tell them apart. They will look pretty and swirled together.

    You can top the dessert with nuts, fresh fruit or even flowers for a bright and innovative look

    Spoon the mixture into each individual dessert dish. Fill each glass nearly to the top, but leave a small space for the topping.

    Sprinkle the chopped walnuts on top of each dessert. You can cover the entire top of each dessert or just use the nuts as a decorative topping to add a little crunch. Either way, they will add another dimension to the dish.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can use fat-free whipped cream to make this dish "lighter" on the calories
  • Use sugar-free fruit filling (find it in the diabetic foods aisle) to cut down on the sweets without losing the summery flavor
