Being a career mom means giving full time devotion to two separate concerns. The balance between work life and home life often blurs as career moms struggle to make both their career and time with their children successful. But despite the difficulty, many career moms find ways to make it work. Read on to learn how to be a career mom.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Step1
Find affordable, reliable childcare. This can be one of the most difficult aspects of being a career mom because of skyrocketing daycare costs. School-age children will not need daycare, but they may need some form of after-school care. Some daycares pick up children from school and take them to the daycare center. Finding a center that picks up will make the afternoon transition much more convenient.
Step2
Decide on a chore schedule. Everyone in the household who is old enough to pitch in should be given household chores. With a chore schedule for everyone, there won't be chores that get forgotten. Everything will get done without any one person having to shoulder the burden of it all.
Step3
Have a contingency plan. Daycare centers will not keep children who are sick. There should be a plan in place in case of accidents and illnesses. A friend or relative should serve as a backup in case the child is sick. In large cities, there are special daycares that cater to sick children.
Step4
Get enough sleep. With so much to do at work and at home, it can be tempting to forgo sleep in order to get more done. However, this can cause a weakened immune system and more illnesses. More illnesses mean that less will get done. Stay in good health by getting plenty of sleep and eating a balanced diet whenever possible.
Step5
Do things online when possible. This saves an enormous amount of time on running errands and shopping. Online banking saves time standing in line at the bank. Buying clothes online saves time going from store to store to find your size.
Step6
Take some time out for your own interests. Spending a little time each week on yourself will reduce your stress level and make you better able the pressures of work and family.
