Things You'll Need:
- Quality clear glue
- Sharp scissors
- Sand paper
-
Step 1
If your cigarette burn in your carpet is not that bad you can use a buffer or even a steam cleaner. This will get the burn stain out and your carpet will look like new. This will only work if you have a very small burn in the carpet.
-
Step 2
Using a sharp pair of scissors cut the burn fibers out of the carpet. Make sure not to cut away any good pieces of carpet the less you have to remove the better.
-
Step 3
Go to an area like a closet in your house or somewhere that a patch a missing carpet would not be noticeable. Use the scissors to cut the amount carpet needed to replace what you cut previously.
-
Step 4
Using a quality clear glue or a fabric glue apply to the end of the good carpet, and attach this to the missing carpet. Let this dry and you will be able to vacuum and even steam clean your carpet.

on 7/22/2008 Great article! I am going to try this tomorrow. :-)
A small hint; if you must cut a patch for the hole, make it as rounded as possible. Not only will it be less noticable, but it will be less likely to separate from the rest of the carpet.
