Scallops are easy to prepare and go well with white wine. There are many ways to prepare this shellfish, including soups, quiche, grilled, breaded and sautéed. Scallops with bacon can be a delicious appetizer or a main course.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 1 lb scallops
  • 1 ackage of bacon
  • Lemon
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Seasoning salt (optional)
  • toothpicks or skewers

Step1
Rinse scallops in cold running water. Dry on a paper towel.
Step2
Use 1/4 to 1/2 slice of bacon, depending on the size of your scallops, to wrap the scallop. Secure with either a skewer or toothpick.
Step3
Sprinkle scallops with salt and pepper or seasoning salt. Another option is to use brown sugar for a sweeter seasoning.
Step4
Broil the scallops in a broiling pan for 8 to 12 minutes until the scallop is opaque throughout. You can also grill the scallops if you are using skewers. Turn often so that the bacon is cooked evenly.
Step5
Baste the scallops with lemon.
Step6
Remove from the heat and arrange on a serving dish. Serve with a green salad, crusty bread and a white wine.
