How to Cook Scallops With Bacon

Scallops are easy to prepare and go well with white wine. There are many ways to prepare this shellfish, including soups, quiche, grilled, breaded and sautéed. Scallops with bacon can be a delicious appetizer or a main course.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 lb scallops
  • 1 ackage of bacon
  • Lemon
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Seasoning salt (optional)
  • toothpicks or skewers
  1. Step 1

    Rinse scallops in cold running water. Dry on a paper towel.

  2. Step 2

    Use 1/4 to 1/2 slice of bacon, depending on the size of your scallops, to wrap the scallop. Secure with either a skewer or toothpick.

  3. Step 3

    Sprinkle scallops with salt and pepper or seasoning salt. Another option is to use brown sugar for a sweeter seasoning.

  4. Step 4

    Broil the scallops in a broiling pan for 8 to 12 minutes until the scallop is opaque throughout. You can also grill the scallops if you are using skewers. Turn often so that the bacon is cooked evenly.

  5. Step 5

    Baste the scallops with lemon.

    Remove from the heat and arrange on a serving dish. Serve with a green salad, crusty bread and a white wine.
