Starting a Super Bowl pool is an easy way to meet people, whether you are new to town or just getting back to the social scene. Getting people to join your Super Bowl pool may prove to be a bit challenging if you don't have some trusted friends to back your name in the endeavor. Here's how to get people to join your Super Bowl pool.

Things You'll Need:

  • Super Bowl pool sheet, usually 100 squares
  • Access to a computer (optional)
  • Telephone
  • Email address
  • Good attitude

Decide on the Size and Prize of the Super Bowl Pool

  1. Step 1

Decide on how many people you would like to invite to join your Super Bowl pool. One hundred is the norm, but it can be any amount if you adjust your brackets.

  2. Step 2

Check the laws in your city or state to make sure it is legal to run a Super Bowl pool without special licensing--some states even require casino licensing. Choose your prize and entry fees carefully.

  3. Step 3

Decide who you want in your Super Bowl Pool. The most popular groups include family and close friends (usually a small pool, great for beginners); coworkers (good way to meet people from different departments); friends from the bar or pub (take the overflow from the main pool and everyone is happy); Internet (this is only for the experts).

  4. Advertise

  5. Step 1

Call your friends and family members and tell them about the pool, or have a party and ask them to attend. You can make the numbers a blind draw so it is fair for everyone, then schedule a Super Bowl party to play out the pool. Even the kids can get involved in this contest.

  6. Step 2

Post a flyer at work for your buddies to email you if they are interested, but be sure to get management approval. This can be tricky, depending on your employer. If you stay within your department, you can usually hold a Super Bowl pool in large corporations without anyone noticing.

  7. Step 3

The local pub or bar is usually happy to have someone join or help run their Super Bowl pool. Many times their pool overflows and customers still want to join. This is a great way to meet new people. Let the bar owner sign up as many people as you want in your pool, then celebrate at the bar on Super Bowl Sunday.

  8. Step 4

If you choose to have a football pool open to everyone on the Internet, start a free blog. It is free and easy to start a blog, just be knowledgeable about football and make interesting, keyword-rich entries. Ping your blog often so it gets attention from the search engines. Soon you will have an enormous Super Bowl pool.
