Whether lounging poolside or just wishing you were, you will find that a glass of passionfruit juice makes for a tropical tastebud treat. The aromatic juice, derived from the passionfruit plant, can be served alone or mixed with alcohol in various cocktail recipes. Does this Spark an idea?

3 tsp sugar
Juice squeezed from 1 lemon
4.5 cups water
Ice Cubes

Instructions

How to Make Passionfruit Juice

  Cut three medium-sized passionfruit in half. Scoop out the insides with a spoon.

  Place the scooped-out fruit in a blender along with 3 tsp of sugar and 4.5 cups of water. Run the blender until the mixture is smooth.

  Squeeze the juice from one lemon through a strainer and into the blender. Mix with a spoon.

  Serve passionfruit juice in a glass over ice cubes, and enjoy!

  If desired, add alcohol. Passionfruit juice, often in conjunction with other fruit juices, is often mixed with rum, vodka or brandy.

Tips & Warnings

Always serve chilled.
There are two types of passionfruit, purple and yellow. Purple passionfruit is especially susceptible to pests and disease, whereas the yellow version is more resistant.
