Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Shrimp
  • Cutting board
  • Small knife
  • Colander or strainer
  1. Step 1

Cut off or remove the heads of your shrimp and discard.

  2. Step 2

Cut off or remove the tiny legs on the bottom side of the shrimp.

  3. Step 3

Peel the hard outer shell and discard.

  4. Step 4

Cut a small slit on the backside of the shrimp and pull out the black vein.

  5. Step 5

Add water to a pot and bring to a boil. Make sure that there is enough water to completely cover the shrimp while boiling. Add the shrimp to the boiling water, and remove from heat when the shrimp turns from a dark gray to an orange-white color.

  6. Step 6

Drain the shrimp in a colander or strainer.

  7. Step 7

Enjoy with cocktail sauce or your favorite dipping sauce. Eat down to tail and discard the tail.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can boil and peel later or peel beforehand. I recommend peeling before boiling so it makes less work for you later.
  • It can get messy, so be sure to prepare in the sink or an area that can be easily cleaned up.
