Baseball may be the great American game, but the great American drinking game has to be beer pong. Beer pong is most popular among college aged individuals, but can be played by people of any age. Well, people above the legal drinking age, that is.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Plastic cups
  • Ping-pong balls
  • Beer
  • Two players of legal drinking age

How to Play 1-on-1 Beer Pong

  1. Step 1

Set up two sets of cups on a flat surface, such as a table. The cups should form a diamond shape. The number of cups is a matter of preference, just remember you well may have to drink all the beer you poor into them in a short timespan.

  2. Step 2

The first player stands behind their cups and attempts to sink two ping pong balls into the other player's cups, one at a time. When a player sinks a ball, their opponent must consume the beer in that cup, and remove it from the table.

  3. Step 3

After the first player has attempted to sink his two ping pong balls the other player must attempt to do the same, following the same procedure found in Step 2. The exception to this rule is when a player has sunk both of their balls in a single turn, in which case they get to go again.

  4. Step 4

The first player to put a ping pong ball in every one of their opponents cups wins. However, the losing player gets a chance to tie. In order to do this, they must sink their balls, without missing, until they have likewise landed a ball in each of their opponent's cups.

Tips & Warnings
  • There are several variations on the rules of the game, which tends to be played slightly differently by different individuals.
  • A player can call a "re-rack" twice per game. When a re-rack is called, the remaining cups are placed in a diamond shape, like they were originally, albeit with fewer cups.
  • If a player attempts to bounce the ping pong ball in their opponent can swat it away, after it has bounced at least once on the table.
  • If the ping pong ball starts spinning around the top of the cup the opponent can attempt to fish it out with his forefinger.
  • As with any alcohol consumption, be careful not to overindulge, and do not drive drunk.
