How to Connect a Canon XH A1 to TV or Computer

To view your Canon XH A1 recordings on a TV screen or computer monitor, you have to perform a few basic steps. Learn how to connect the XH A1 to a normal (non-HDTV) TV or computer monitor using the video terminal.

How to Connect a Canon XH A1 to TV or Computer

1. Open the XH A1 menu and set the input selector to video.

2. Set the video output switch on the back of the camcorder to A/V1.

3. Plug the single plug end of the stereo cable into the XH A1 A/V1. Plug the other ends into your TV or monitor (yellow to video and red/white to audio).

4. Turn on your TV or monitor and select video/line-in (refer to TV instruction manual).

5. Select the audio channel under the XH A1 menu audio setup. Press play on the XH A1 to view your videos on the TV or monitor.

Tips & Warnings

• If connecting to a TV or monitor with a 4:3 aspect ration, open the menu on the XH A1 and select Signal Setup. Choose "Letterbox" and set it to ON.
