1
Take care of yourself by eating balanced meals regularly, including breakfast. It is evident that we must be properly fueled in order to function at our best. In the chronic absence of a balanced, nutritionally sound diet, the body becomes tense and is encouraged to respond by developing stress symptoms.
-
2
Get adequate sleep and exercise. Recent research has shown that many of the stress-related diseases are related to a a lack of physical activity which contributes to poor physical fitness. The body's systems need regular, vigorous exercise in order to keep them vital and fit. Thirty minutes a day at the gym or even taking a walk helps to reduce stress levels.

3
Develop friendships at work and outside the office. High quality relationships are characterized by good communication, mutual caring and respect. Toxic relationships need to be avoided or changed so that they become meaningful and positive. Minimize activities with "negative" friends who only reinforce bad feelings.
-
4
Take time off. Take a vacation or a long weekend. During the workday, take short breaks. Monotony causes one to be tense and irritable. Whenever possible take the time to get away from the monotony to relax and unwind.
-
5
Set limits. When necessary, learn to say no in a friendly but firm manner. Do not push yourself over the limit. If you can't handle the situation at that time, simply learn to say "no."
-
6
Choose battles wisely. Don't rush to argue every time someone disagrees with you. Keep a cool head and save your argument for things that really matter. Better yet, try not to argue at all.
-
7
Have an outlet for your stress. Read, enjoy a hobby, exercise or get involved in some other activity that is relaxing and gets your mind off work.
