Cars with keyless start are harder to steal.

Keyless start features are a convenience of modern technology. From remote start systems that allow us to warm up our cars from inside our homes on cold mornings to hopping in the car seat and pushing a button to start the car. Which is the right keyless start option for you?

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide which type of keyless start system you want. The remote start with keyless entry is the most common aftermarket keyless start system. Nearly any car can be outfitted with one of these systems, which are usually part of an alarm package. Remote start allows you to start your car from a remote location, like inside your house or office. You can warm up your car or get the AC started before you get in.

  2. Step 2

Research your car or desired car. Can the system you want be installed? Is it available as an add-on at purchase?

  3. Step 3

Price compare. Depending on which system you want, you may have options of where to buy it. Compare system features and prices to get the best value.

  4. Step 4

Select the proper system. You may decide that you want an alarm system with your keyless start package. Buy a system with only the features you need and want.

  5. Step 5

Schedule installation. It usually takes several hours for a system to be installed. Bring a book or have someone pick you up and bring you back when the car is ready.
