The Virginia Highlands in Atlanta, Georgia has so many great bars and restaurants that it's difficult to know where to start. Here are some of the local favorites.
Start off at Taco Mac, located at the northern end of Virginia Highlands beside Murphy's. Enjoy some great wings and a wide selection of high quality beers. Outdoor seating is available in a very laid back atmosphere.

Next hit Moe's and Joe's. This traditional bar has been serving regulars since 1947. It offers a fun neighborhood atmosphere with cheap prices on pitchers. Outdoor seating is available.

Across the street hit up Highland Tap. This basement hideaway starts off as a martini and steak bar and then gets crazier later on.

Next door hit Fontaine's. This eclectic oyster bar boasts the freshest oysters in Atlanta. The huge back porch has tons of room and is great during the spring and summer months.

Further down in the Highlands, visit Hand and Hand. It's a big English Pub that also has a great outside deck and draws quite a crowd. It has great beers and a casual ambiance.
