Keeping a food journal while on the Jenny Craig diet plan is highly recommended. The journal will help reveal both the good and bad aspects of your eating habits. It will show you what foods you're getting too much of and what you're not getting enough of. The Jenny Craig organization makes it quite easy for you by providing a free online food journal.

Things You'll Need:

  • Small notebook
  • Pen or pencil
  1. Step 1

Get yourself a small notebook that you can easily carry with you everywhere you go. That way you won't have to rely on your memory and are more likely to get everything recorded.

  2. Step 2

Record everything—absolutely everything—that you consume. That includes food, beverages, water and any supplements that you take. Also record the time that you eat, the number of calories consumed and the circumstances of the situation (where you were, who you were with, how you were feeling and how you felt afterwards).

  3. Step 3

Include in your journal a record of all your physical activities. Record the type of exercise or activity, amount of time you spent on each workout and when the activity took place. The more information your journal contains, the better overall picture you'll have of where your strengths and weaknesses lie.

  4. Step 4

Log on to the "free tools" section of the Jenny Craig website (see Resources) to access a free online food journal. Enter all your information there. You'll find the forms easy to use.

  5. Step 5

Use your food journal to help you and your Jenny Craig counselor monitor and adjust your individual plan as needed.

Tips & Warnings
  • Along with the programs that utilize online resources, Jenny Craig also offers programs based from locally operated centers in various locations. If you choose one of those programs, Internet access is not required for keeping your food journal.
