Squeegees are typically hand-held tools. They have a smooth rubber blade and are commonly used to remove excess water from glass or windows after they have been cleaned to prevent streaking.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Squeegee
  • Cloth
  • Window or glass
  1. Step 1

Put the rubber blade of the squeegee onto the top of the glass and pull it downward in one consistent motion.

  2. Step 2

Now wipe the blade with a cloth. Chamois leather works best.

  3. Step 3

Put the squeegee blade back at the top of the glass overlapping slightly where you just used the squeegee.

  4. Step 4

Tilt the squeegee towards the wet area to avoid forcing water to run back into the already dry area of the glass.

  5. Step 5

Repeat the downward motion and blade wiping until the glass is completely dry and streak-free.

Tips & Warnings
  • Once you are comfortable using the squeegee, you will be able to develop your own technique possibly using swivel or fan motions.
