Accept that in order to achieve the status of a Buddha, you will have to dedicate yourself to various physical and mental techniques.

Seek the guidance of various readings, such as the "Tripitaka," to learn how to control both your body and your mind in such a way that you will develop important states of awareness and concentration.

Realize that the states of awareness and concentration, used effectively, will place you on the path to Buddhahood. Although Tibetan Buddhism focuses more on gaining philosophical knowledge and the continuing evolution of enlightenment during multiple lifetimes, some forms of Buddhism claim that practicing the states of awareness and concentration can result in a person achieving Buddhahood within one lifetime, or even in as little as a few years.

Practice kindness and understanding to all living beings. This is central to the main beliefs of Buddhism. A person who has achieved Buddhahood will have demonstrated abilities to center both the mind and the body in meditation, as well as in kind actions.
