How to Make Vegan Pancakes

Pancakes are a delicious and traditional part of breakfast, so when going vegan, many panic at breakfast time. Eggs are suddenly out of the picture, and that takes away traditional egg-based French toast and pancakes. Don't give up breakfast! There are ways to make almost any breakfast item vegan, and here is a great way to make vegan pancakes! Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 1 tbs. sugar in the raw
  • 1/8 tsp. sea salt
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tbs. baking powder
  • 1 cup rice milk (almond or soy milk can be substituted)
  • 2 tbs. vegetable oil

Instructions

      Sift the sugar and salt in a large bowl. Slowly sift in the flour, add the baking powder and mix well.

      Put the rice milk and oil into the mix, and stir vigorously.

      Put the mix aside, and turn on a burner on your stove.

      Grease your frying pan, and put it over medium heat.

      Drop 1/4 cup of batter into the frying pan.

      Let the pancake brown, but be careful to flip it before it gets too dark!

      Put more grease in the frying pan, and start the cooking process over again for additional pancakes.

      Put your pancakes on a platter and serve. Vegan pancakes are best served with maple syrup!
