Losing a beloved pet is usually a traumatic experience for most people. After all, a pet becomes one of the family, and losing it can cause grief for years to come. Creating a remembrance spot for one, however, can help you and your family remember your pet for years to come. There are many ways this can be done, as shown below.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Photos
  • Frames
  • Urn
  • Headstone
  • Flowers
  1. Step 1

Create a remembrance spot for your pet if you buried your pet on your own property. Buy a memorial item to place on the grave. You can shop online and buy beautiful personalized headstones that you can have engraved any way you like. Plant flowers, or use artificial ones in a nice vase. Put up a little fence. Buy a waterproof photo frame, found on many memorial websites, and set a framed photo of your pet on the grave.

  2. Step 2

Create a collage of pictures of your pet in various stages of age and play. Find a frame that holds a dozen or more pictures, and add your pet’s pictures to it. Or create your own collage and frame it yourself. Hang it in a spot where you will easily see it.

  3. Step 3

Create an online remembrance spot for your pet. There are many websites that offer you a spot to remember your pet for free. You can share stories, post pictures and talk to others who have lost a pet. Seeing a tribute online to your pet, and knowing that others around the world can potentially see it, can really help the grief process along.

  4. Step 4

Buy a beautiful urn to keep your pet’s ashes in as a remembrance of your pet. You can now shop from an amazing array of urns; some even come with your animal's breed carved on them. Once you have an urn, choose a high spot for it that will allow you to see it easily.

  5. Step 5

Contribute to an organization that helps animals or a local shelter. You can also donate to an organization that performs research for animal diseases, particularly if your animal died from a certain one. It may help your grief knowing you are helping other animals and pet owners in the future.

Tips & Warnings
