Folk remedies have been used for hundreds of years by midwives and elders in communities to treat the ill or ailing. You have probably used a folk remedy at least once in your life and didn't even know it. Remember putting a piece of tobacco on a bee sting to remove the stinger? That's a folk remedy.

Things You'll Need:

  • Headache
  • Lilac leaves
  • Cabbage leaf
  • Ace bandage
  • Nuts
  • Raisins
  • Cheese
  • Window
  • Potato
  • Juicer
  1. Step 1

Eat a handful of nuts, cheese and raisins on a daily basis to avoid a headache or migraine. But if you should happen to get one, bandage a cabbage leaf to the forehead and temples with an ace bandage. Crumple the leaf in your hands and apply the juice to the wrists and behind the ears for accelerated relief. Leave this for 10 minutes and repeat again until the headache is gone.

  2. Step 2

Crumple fresh lilac leaves in the palm of your hand and press them to the forehead for 5 minutes. You can repeat this as long as needed to alleviate the pain.

  3. Step 3

Hold your forehead to a cool window pane for 2 minutes at a time to rid yourself of a migraine that keeps reoccurring.

  4. Step 4

Drink a half glass of freshly juiced potato juice to get rid of a headache from the inside.
