Things You'll Need:

  • Pancake recipe
  1. Step 1

Make the mix from scratch. Store-bought mixes contain preservatives, which are never healthy. Another advantage to homemade mixes is being able to control the ingredients you add. This ensures that your pancakes are as healthy as they can be.

  2. Step 2

Substitute half of the all purpose flour with whole wheat flour; white flour contains bad carbs. Another advantage of whole wheat flour is that it has better flavor.

  3. Step 3

Use an egg substitute. Eggs contain fat and cholesterol, which makes them and your pancakes unhealthy. Egg substitutes, on the other hand, are fat and cholesterol-free.

  4. Step 4

Add healthy toppings. Toppings can completely ruin even the healthiest pancake. That's why it's important to add healthy toppings. For example, you can add sugar-free syrup, peanut butter or fresh fruit.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add peanut butter, bananas, and granola for a healthy and delicious pancake.
