Things You'll Need:
- Chocolate or fudge frosting
- Chocolate Twizzlers licorace
- Marshmallow cream
- Fruit roll-ups
- Thin skewers
- Scooby-Doo action figures or color photos of Scooby-Doo characters

Step 1
When frosting a cake it is best if the cake is frozen. It allows you to spread the marshmallow cream without tearing up the cake. Put a thick layer of marshmallow cream in between two rectangular layers of cake. Put the top layer on and then frost the whole cake with chocolate or fudge frosting. Try Betty Crocker's Easy Fudge Frosting recipe; it is delicious and dries with a firm silky finish.

Step 2
Now that the cake is frosted, it is time to make some very spooky trees. With a sharp knife of sharp, fine scissors cut the tops of chocolate Twizzlers, put about three cuts in each Twizzler. Make sure each cut is at a different height to give the appearance of branches. With some extra fudge frosting, "glue" three of the Twizzlers bottomes together to form a trunk. After the frosting has sat and hardened for an hour, add the the Twizzler trees to the cake. Push the trees down about one inch into the frosting in order for them to stand up on the cake. Make three to four trees depending on the size of the cake.

Step 3
Make the ghosts. Unroll the fruit rollups and cut out a small 3 x 3-inch square. Take the rest of the same colored fruit rollup and roll it into a ball. Put the ball in the center of the square and let the sides of the square fall to the side to make a ghost. Stick a skewer into each ghost and tuck the ghosts behind the tree. Add a couple of eyes by squeezing a little chocolate frosting on the front of the ghost.

Step 4
Add a "Happy Birthday" wish to the lucky child using bright yellow frosting.
-
Step 5
Add the Scooby Doo action figures to the cake. If you want to go a less expensive route, print out a copy of the Scooby Doo characters, cut them out and add a toothpick to each picture. Arrange the characters around the cake. To personalize the cake add your child's face to his or her favorite character.
