How to Make Centerpieces for under $10
Whether its for a dinner party or a wedding reception, centerpieces don't have to cost a lot to look elegant. For an inexpensive centerpiece follow these steps and note that all the items can be purchased at almost any local dollar store.
Things You'll Need
- Large wine glass
- Colored glass stones
- small fake flowers
- 1 votive candle
Instructions
-
-
1
Remove any dust or debris that might be on or inside the wine glass.
-
2
Put a small handful of glass stones in the bottom of the glass.
-
-
3
Cut the plastic flowers off their stems so you just have the bloom itself.
-
4
Working around the inside of the glass, place one flower facing out, then put a glass stone behind it to keep it from moving.
-
5
Once you have a circle of flowers around the inside of the glass, put another small layer of glass stones. This should fill the large wine glass about half way.
-
6
Take the votive candle and gently nestle it into the glass stone a little bit. You want to be secured from any tipping or wiggling, but don't push it into the stones deep or forcefully. This should leave an inch or more of the votive sticking out the top of the glass.
-
7
Light the candle and enjoy.

Tips & Warnings
All the necessary items can be found at most dollar stores.
Two or three of these look beautiful in the center of longer tables.
Get creative, but stick with a theme. For example, if most of your decor will be blue, then stick with blue, clear, white, opalescent, etc.
You can always add or remove stones to adjust the height of the candle.
Make sure the flowers do not touch the votive if you intend to light it.
